How can I analyze my sequences?
Sequence analytics show you exactly how each individual email in your sequence is performing, so you can see which step earns replies and which one loses people.
Instead of a single number for the whole campaign, you get a breakdown for every step: how many were sent, opened, clicked and replied to.
To use:
1. Go to Outreach › Sequences
2. Click the menu icon on the right of any sequence, and select "Analytics"
3. Review the summary at the top for your overall open rate, click rate and reply rate
4. Below that, review the per-step table to see how each individual email performed
Reading your results
Each row is one step in your sequence:
- Sent — how many emails from this step were delivered to the sending server
- Opened — how many were opened, with the rate in brackets
- Clicked — how many recipients clicked a link
- Replied — how many recipients responded
All rates are calculated against the emails sent for that step, not the whole campaign. This matters because later steps naturally send to fewer people — anyone who replied has already been removed from the follow-ups.
What to look for
- A low open rate on step 1 usually points to a weak subject line, or a deliverability problem. Check your domain health.
- Good opens but no replies means your subject is working but the message isn't. Try a shorter, more specific ask.
- One step performing much better than the others is your best template — reuse that angle.
- A step with almost no replies is a candidate to rewrite or remove entirely.
If a step shows "same thread" instead of a subject, that step is set to reply within the original conversation rather than start a new one.
