Why is some business data outdated?
LeadSwift gathers business data from multiple sources, including Google Maps/Places, Yelp, YellowPages, Bing, Facebook, LinkedIn, business websites, and other public sources. Because of this, some fields may reflect the last time that business was captured, updated, or enriched.
For example, a Google review count or rating may not always match what you currently see on Google if the business was last captured earlier. In that case, the rating or review count is a snapshot from when LeadSwift last saw or enriched that lead.
Why This Happens
Some sources, such as Google Maps/Places, limit the number of businesses returned for a search. They also decide which businesses are most relevant at that moment. As a result, the exact same search may not always return the exact same businesses each time.
To avoid missing businesses, LeadSwift maintains a historical archive of businesses discovered across previous searches. For example, if a business appeared in a prior search but does not appear again later, it may still be included in your results.
Google Data vs. Other Sources
Not every lead starts from Google. Some businesses are first found through other sources, such as Yelp, YellowPages, Bing, Facebook, or their own website.
When possible, LeadSwift checks these businesses against Google Maps/Places and enriches them with Google data if we are confident there is a match.
If we are not confident that the Google result refers to the same business, we avoid matching it incorrectly. This helps prevent the wrong rating, review count, address, phone number, or business profile from being attached to the lead.
How to Find the Freshest Data
If you only want the most recent or source-specific leads, use these filters in your leads report:
- Source: Filter to a specific source, such as Google Maps or Google Places.
- Updated: Filter to businesses updated within the last few days or weeks.
- Status: Filter for leads marked as “New” to find newly discovered businesses.
You can also re-run your searches regularly. If the same search is performed again and new businesses are discovered, they will be tagged as “New” in your results.
When Accuracy Matters Most
If your outreach depends on a specific data point, such as Google rating, review count, website status, or business status, we recommend filtering by the relevant source and updated date before contacting leads.
For example, if your campaign is specifically about Google reviews, filter the source to Google Maps/Places and use the Updated column to focus on recently refreshed leads.
Note:
- LeadSwift prioritizes coverage, so you do not miss businesses that may no longer appear in the limited results returned by a source.
- Some fields are snapshots from when the business was last captured, updated, or enriched.
- If you need only the freshest data, use the Source, Updated, and Status filters before exporting or contacting leads.
- For broader search accuracy, we recommend performing city-level searches instead of state or country-level searches.
